<p>Math 1C is easier but has a much harsher curve. Math 2C is harder but has an easier curve. If you are good at math and have taken through precal, then take 2C</p>
<p>What schools are you applying to? If you are applying to MIT and Caltech, you MUST take Math 2C and Physics. There is not two ways about it. On the other hand, if you intend to major in a humanity at an artsy fartsy school, you would probably be best served to take English Lit and History or a foreign language and Math 2C (2C is always more respected, especially at top universities).</p>
<p>As for the scores, since SAT 2s are subject tests, they tend to be more straight forward and as such, top universities usually expect scores well over 700.</p>
