I just got my October SAT score back and it's 2220 (700 reading, 740 writing (12 essay) and 780 math). Does this score put me at a disadvantage (I mean it's lower than 2250) and should I retake my SAT? >_< I bombed my CR section but I definitely will do better on all three sections next time. I'm just not sure if taking SAT twice looks bad on my application

Also, I have an extenuating circumstance (coming to Canada as an ESL in grade 9) which is explained in my application. So will Yale be lenient b/c of this?

If you are a junior and if you are pretty sure you can improve your reading score, and if you have a free Saturday morning then I would say go for it once more. There is absolutely no penalty for taking it again. None. But if you are a senior then don't waste your time, work on the other parts of your application.

Not that your 2220 is a problem, but if your CR goes from 700 to 780 it would make you look just a wee bit stronger. Especially because of your ESL background, a high CR score will help remove any doubts anyone might have about your reading comprehension.

That's what I got. When I saw it, I immediately signed up to take it again. If you are sure you can do better next time, I really see no reason not to take it.
