I got a 2400 on the SAT. Should I still take the ACT?
I got a 2400, but I only got a 9 on my essay. SHould I retake the SAT?

Will it look bad if I take the SAT only once and take no other tests?

Yes definitely retake so that you can get a 12 on your Essay. Colleges will think that someone else wrote your College application Essay for you, since you were only able to score a 9 on your SAT essay...

Also, definitely take the ACT. Colleges won't accept your 2400 SAT if you don't prove to them that you can also score a 36 on the ACT.

:/

Ps: I think you're lying (or hopefully joking). Anyone who would be this stupid to ask this question couldn't possibly score a 2400 on the SAT.

uh, you can take the ACT if you want and if you think you can get another high score with minimum prep - especially if you are a fast test taker and more science/math oriented.

any other suggestions?

I am hanging on the edge. I realize that I might not be able to get a 2400 the second time around and a score decrease would look pretty bad.

What? Are you talking about retaking the SAT? No, of course not! Do NOT retake. All I said is that you can take the ACT if you want. Don't retake the SAT even if you WANT to!

Take the ACT.

I think you are worrying too much. Don't waste your tremendous talent (i've seen your other posts) on how many angels you can fit on the head of a pin-type problems.

i think u need to get off the weed and dont post when u are totally blazed...although i dont kno many potheads who got a perfect score on the sat

How is it possible to get a 2400 with a score of 9 on the essay?

you will if you get all the MC correct, even an 8 essay all MC correct will give you as high as 790.

...why would you EVER retake SAT with a 2400. do you honestly think colleges want somebody who is SO obsessed with tests as to RETAKE A PERFECT SCORE. I would not retake SAT, not take ACT, nothing. You don't NEED to. Why waste your money and your time? Do as MIT says. Go on a picnic instead :-). Or read a book. Or write a book, for that matter. Whatever. there are waaaaayyyy better things than proving yourself by getting TWO 2400 SATs, or a perfect ACT or whatever.

he's obviously joking

I would urge you to retake the SAT. Maybe you will get a 2500 next time and that will substantially improve your bragging rights on C.C.

Also, taking the SAT just once is a sure sign of a slacker.

Hi, I did poorly on my Nov SAT. Is January 26th too late to retake or can I get a recheck?

What?! Original poster: In what month did you take the SAT? 'Cause I took it in November (this month) and got a 2390; the 790 was in Writing because I got a 9 on the essay. I got an 80 on the 20-80 scale for the multiple choice.

PS: If this is a serious thread, don't you DARE retake the SAT! A 2400 is a 2400! Even I'm not going to retake it with my 9. >:/ That's honestly a waste of six hours of potential sleeping/socializing/anything but being in a stuffy room for six hours.

PPS: lol @ vicariousparent's comment
