I took the math 2 and physics subject tests in december, and got a 630 and 770 respectively. Now, as i have heard the 630 is really low for anyone going into engineering, i really screwed up on that test.

For the colleges that require both a math and a science its an easy choice - well rather i don't have one, ill send them anyway. But for colleges that get sat 2 scores as optional, is it worth to send the math one if im applying to their engineering campuses / programs? (as in, colleges that ask you what you want to do in the application itself - not sure if they take that into account).

Besides the physics score i have a 800 in german w/ listening, so that if i dont send my math one, the physics score wouldnt be too lonely and weirdly standing out - i mean not many people take physics without taking a math, i suppose.

Thanks in advance for any tips!

P.S: im applying as a freshman, if that changes anything

Well the application deadlines are Jan 1, so im deciding which ones to send and which ones to keep. Taking it in Jan is not an option for me unfortunately, so im trying to select what to do with what i have.

For the colleges that make SAT2s optional, I’d just send the physics and German tests. That math score would probably just end up hurting you =/

january isn’t too late if you rush report – i asked a lot of colleges… i’d retake math 2 in january because 630 is below national average… you can put in the additional info section of your application that you have scheduled to take math II in January an that colleges should expect that score. Explain that you had a bad day or something when you took it the first time and had a sub-par result.

my normal sat math is 710. nowhere near perfect but i know im not bad at math, that one test just sucked for me, couldn’t think straight.
I’m considering right now to register for the jan SAT 2 math, but im not sure if colleges will take the late scores, trying to dig up a list of ones that will

I agree with Barty13.
Anybody can have a bad day. My son was sick as a dog for his 2nd SAT. I bet they’ll take the late score if you explain the situation to them.
