<p>Does anyone have any advice/words of wisdom to share about their experiences taking the SAT (or ACT) a second time? I took the ACT in December 2011 (as a junior) and received a 31. I took the SAT in May of this year and received a 1980. I did both of these without one ounce of preparation, no practice tests, prep courses, etc. I'm not really completely satisfied with those scores so I'm planning on taking the October SAT. Does anyone have any tips on how to effectively prepare for a second chance? I've got the official prep book, has anyone found that beneficial? Should I just make an effort to take many, many practice tests?</p>

<p>Yes! Practicing a lot will make a big difference! It’s too late to learn new material, but the better you know the test format and the types of questions on the test, the better you will do!</p>
