SAT 2's

how important are these at harvard? my top 2 scores are pretty good (800 math and 760 french), so i think i'm fine for most schools (harvard and princeton are the only ones that require 3, right?) but my third score is a 690 in bio, is this at all going to HURT me? sorry not trying to be braggy or anything, just genuinely concerned. also, my sat scores are good except for my CR score, and i didn't do amazing on lit sat 2 either (670), will they care?

I highly doubt this well affect your admissions decision. You have two amazing scores and two other very good scores, so don't fret. A 670 on lit is actually considered pretty good as it's one of the most difficult SAT subject tests. If you CR score is in the same range or higher, then your are fine. Focus on the other aspects of your application to overshadow the less-than-perfect scores. Good luck!

Thanks, miss secret. Are you applying?

My son has a similar problem, 800 Math 2, 780 Chem, and 730 Physics. He has no time to retake so just hoping for the best. It seems to me that your scores are fine, but I'm not Harvard. You have some diversity in your tests, which my son just has the math and science, so to me it shows you are good at many suvjects and should be a plus.

Thanks. I think your son's scores are perfectly fine, I was just nervous about my 690 because everyone on CC talks about the necessity of "breaking 700"

You know, I can't imagine the difference between 690 and 700 is significant, but then, unlike you and my son, I'm not an 800 on math. These boards are a wonderful source of information, but in a lot of ways, they remind me of when you audition for all-state band and there is always some kid showing off in the warm-up room, playing some etude twice as fast as you can. What you don't know is the kid stinks at the slow, interpretive one, or simple scales or something. People can be kind of harsh around here. Unless you hear it from an admissions rep or something, I wouldn't get too fussed. In fact, I think in some other thread, i was fretting about the 730 Physics score, and a helpful mom with a child at Harvard mentioned subject tests that were something like 730, 710, and 690 (not sure of exact numbers) and the student was admitted. Hope you make it too.
