<p>nope. the general rule of thumb is to take it no more than 3 times.</p>
<p>^but that doesn't apply for the class of 2010 and above right?</p>
<p>A third time is fine. Contrary to popular belief, nobody really cares how many times you take it. The adcoms have more important things to worry about.</p>

<p>I know some colleges who start averaging the SAT scores after 3 times. So I'd say only 3 times unless you REALLY want a better score. After all, a small change isn't going to affect admissions, so you probably should study a lot before taking the next retake.</p>
<p>the first and second times i took it, i got a 2040 both times
the third time i took it, i got a 2120
the fourth time i took it, i got a 2270</p>
<p>so in my case, the fourth time helped a lot</p>
