SAT 4th time question

So here's the deal. My parents made me take the SAT when I was a freshman just to have "experience" for it. Needless to say, I got a really bad score. I took it again in my Junior year and got an ok score. I took it a second time in my Junior year and I had a decent improvement in my scores but I'm still not satisfied with them. I am a senior now. What I am wondering is if I take them a 4th time, will it still look bad when applying for colleges? Because I hear it is recommended that you take the SATs no more than 3 times. Can they see the dates I took them and realize it was freshman year? Or does it not matter at all?

Thanks for any answers

I guess It doesn’t matter. You can choose what scores to send to colleges. Some colleges don’t even ask you how many times have you taken the SAT but there are several colleges who require all of your scores.

If you hit the scores you want, absolutely go for it. If you do it again and get the same score or lower though, it will probably won’t reflect very well for taking it four times. I probably would take it again

thanks for the answers

does anyone else have an opinion on this?

I’m not a pro or anything but I’ll give my opinion. I think you should take the subject tests now, if you’re satisfied with your SAT score then you shouldn’t be obsessed over it to make it even better. SAT II is the way to go now.

What exactly is your best score? How much do you think you can improve by and what sort of schools are you aiming for?

You may want to try an old ACT to practice; if that yields a higher score than your SAT scores (using the ACT - SAT concordance charts), you may want to take the ACT for real.

Colleges will ignore the SAT you took as a freshman.

What are you doing to improve your score? If nothing, then you might as well skip it.
