SAT/ACT Conflict!

To all those informed members,

I need some of your help... I am not sure if I should even report my SAT scores given my ACT scores.

So I have recieved a 2010 the two times I took the SAT and I recieved a 31 on the ACT the first time and a 33 the second time. Over the summer I have been studying a tad harder and I think I can reach 35 on the ACT come October so the question is should I even report my SAT scores? I am hoping to attend some of the more selective colleges (especially Yale and JHU) and I'm wondering if my high ACT scores intermingled with my semi-high SAT scores will hurt my chances. I have 800's on my three SAT II's.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

They will see your SAT scores when you send in your SAT IIs.

So do you think it will hurt me?

i hear that they always look at what is higher, but that it's good to show any good scores you have. someone just posted in the yale forum about whether or not to send ACT and SAT if you have bad SAT II scores, which is similar to what you're asking. they called both princeton and yale to ask about their policies. you should check out the post, i'm pretty sure it's at the top of the yale forum.

JHU lets just about anybody in, don't worry about it.

^not really

if you're filling out the application.. do what i'm doing.. don't write in your SAT score but write in your SAT II scores and your ACT score
i believe a secretary (not the admissions peoplle) verifies to see if the scores you listed match up with the scores sent by collegeboard.. hopefully he/she will not add scores that you did not list

sahil: That's interesting. Does anyone know this will work?

i actually have the same problem-- higher ACTs than SATs, but i haven't done any SATIIs. i was just hoping to not report the SAT.

bump (diez)

anyone know if my claim is factual?

I've heard of something like this before, but can't verify it completely.

I'm sure it depends on the school, but it sounds pretty likely.
