SAT/ACT for a non-traditional freshman?

I know this woman who's 28. She wants to apply to colleges for the first time this year, but is not sure if she needs to submit SAT or ACT scores (she hasn't take either). I told her, "probably not, since it's been a decade since she graduated high school," but I'm not sure.

There are some schools that focus on adult students with life experience whose application process is different from that of traditional students.
