SAT, ACT, or Both?

Hey CC's, I was wondering if I should take both tests. I have taken the SAT and scored a 2060, which I am planning on taking again as i am only a junior, but should i take the ACT as well if i am applying to NYU (CAS) ED next year? I think the SAT is more my test so.............do a lot of people only send one type of standardized test (save the SAT II's)? Thx!

If you take the SAT, you're fine. Unlike the ACT, the SAT will be well recieved anywhere. The only people who take the ACT at the competitive New York City private schools are the people who get low scores and feel like they could do much better on the ACT. If you scored a 2060 as a junior, you should be in good shape. Study and practice. If you do, I'm sure your scores will go up. Mine went up over 100 points (to a 2110) just from May of junior year to October of senior year.

thx fo the advice, but a quick question...

What are the easiest/best SAT II's to take?

math2c, physics, or your native language sat2

Whatever you're good at. It would also be a good idea to pick ones teachers could help you study for (unless you have a tutor or something). SAT IIs are a chance to show off your strengths in specific subjects.

i'd say to take the both. because for the ACT, you can not send your scores in if they are bad. also you can send only your best score. so if you can do well on the ACT, it could help supplement your SAT score

I agree. The only thing you lose by taking the ACT is however much it takes to take the test, which isn't much. It's definately worthwhile to try the ACT and see how you do.
