I was wondering if the october act would be able to come in for johns hopkins early decision? It is on October 27th and it says that the october act is fine for early decision on johns hopkins website but it usually takes 2 to 8 weeks for act scores to come in, i dont get how thats going to work?? By the way ED deadline is November 1st.

Call the admission office.

ACT (and any test scores) can arrive after application deadline date. Just be sure to name JH in your test application as a college to automatically receive scores upon release. It does not really take two to eight weeks. When scores come out (both your section scores and then your writing score which score might actually come a couple days to a week after your section scores), ACT puts the scores in a on-line account that JH has with ACT. JH then gets those scores by signing into that account and downloading. That does not take two to eight weeks. Usually what actually takes the longest, often a week, is for a college that has the scores to properly match them with the particular application files.

A Note on Standardized Test Dates
Johns Hopkins strongly recommends that Early Decision (ED) candidates complete their required standardized tests no later than October of their senior year. Regular Decision (RD) candidates should complete the required tests no later than December of their senior year.

Although we cannot guarantee that November (ED) or January (RD) scores will arrive before the Admissions Committee evaluation, past experience suggests that scores taken on these dates usually arrive in time.

November (ED) or January (RD) scores will be accepted for those students unable to meet their test requirements by October (ED) or December (RD). In such cases, we encourage you to note your intention of taking the later standardized test(s) on your application. There is no need to rush your scores.
