SAT/ACT

Ok so here’s the deal I’ve taken the SAT a total of 3 times with each score being unacceptable to me. I have taken the ACT once with a very low score as well. I am a Senior-to-be this upcoming year and I have very high expectations for the schools I want to attend. I currently have 2 AP classes online to bump up my low GPA at the last minute and I am in the process of completing 5 projects due the week I get back to school (I am in summer break right now). I am giving myself anxiety because I want to do so much in such a short amount of time. Most of my preferred schools application’s are due around the October-November time period. To summarize, at this point I am literally open to any suggestions on what to do regarding which tests and when to take them, I’m driving myself crazy please help!!!

My suggestion is to come up with a list of schools that make sense given your academics (including standardized testing and current GPA). If you feel standardized testing is holding you back and have studied for the exams you have taken, then look into test optional colleges.

How are you studying for your tests? That could have a big impact on the scores you are getting. I would recommend spending a week studying a different way, taking another practice test, and seeing whether the new strategy has affected your scores. If they go up or you feel more confident as you’re taking it, continue doing so. If not, focus your efforts on writing good essays.
I studied for the SAT by taking a lot of practice tests (CollegeBoard for verbal and Barron’s for math) and would recommend DiagKNOWstics online platform if you need a bit more help improving your math score.
