I got a 2010 on my SAT (710 M, 620 CR, 680 W).
The ACT seems to be easier than the SAT.
What can I expect for the ACT?

I heard that the science part of the ACT can be quite difficult.

Personally, I think the science part of the ACT is very easy.

The ACT is easy(!) it's just that you need to be quick! There is less time given then in the SAT

has anyone taken both the SAT and ACT? How do the scores compare?

SAT

CR 720
Math 800
Writing 770
Comp 2290

ACT

English 36
Math 36
Reading 36
Science 33
Comp 35

I think the questions on the ACT are much easier. Although, my weakness on the SAT is vocabulary, and on the ACT vocabulary is not tested. The thing that makes the ACT hard is the shrot amount of time given, especially in the Reading and Science sections, so I would suggest practicing those in advance so you learn how to pace yourself. Also, the ACT has a very sharp curve on it, so getting only a few questions wrong can make your score drop very quickly.

Overall...
How does Critical Reading on the SAT compare to Reading on the ACT?
How does Math on the SAT compare to Math on the ACT?
How does Writing on the SAT compare to English on the ACT?
Is it worth it for me to even take it?

To answer your questions, from my perspective:

The ACT reading section is easier than SAT CR.
Math and Writing/English are about the same.
And I'd say... sure, give it a shot. There's nothing to lose except, well, money.

CR on both tests is comparable.

Math SAT is trickier. Math ACT is harder, but more straightforward.

English ACT is reading a passage and selecting the improvements, unlike the SAT's "find the error".

Give it a try. You don't have to report the score.

The ACT is miserable. You have 35 minutes to answer 40 questions and read 4 passages. English and math are fine. Science is tricky just because it's rare to see something like that. I felt horrible after I took it, but wound up with a 34.

2270 on SAT and 35 composite on ACT.

Vick, you and I got the exact same scores for both tests.
