I'm wondering about the importance of the SAT and ACT in admissions to schools such as Pratt, Parsons, RISD, SAIC. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

It varies from school to school. Check collegeboard for average scores, level of importance, etc. I think for art school, talent is probably one of the highest priorities, but some schools do put weight on grades and SATs (like RISD) more than others.

For my S, it helped in scholarship offers to MICA which has an academic scholarship. When we toured RISD, they said that they look at SATs. I think for the schools you listed, grades hold some importance.

This is exciting. Are you just starting the process?

Yes, she’ll be a senior this fall. I have an older daughter in college but the art school “thing” is a first here.
I know grades/scores count most for RISD and do matter for all. She’s not a great test-taker (26 ACT), has a very good GPA w honors, but not AP level classes.

Thanks for your reply.
