I took SAT again this Dec, the score was out today, and it was not that good, 680 on writing, 630 on reading and 710 on math(I don't know what's wrong with my math, since i'm a math major and i got nearly full score average for my multi variable this semester).

3.9GPA, summer research after the first year of college, good recs, president of a club, editor of a school, tons of other extracurriculum at both college and high school.math and econ major.

wants to go to a liberal art that are in consortium or have more resources. (smith, mount holyoke, wellesley, claremont mckenna) now at a liberal art ranked 90th.

Should I retake SAT? I'm a sophomore right now. Thank you!

If the only reason against doing it is you don’t really feel like it, I would say go for it. I’m currently a freshman looking to transfer and at first I thought there was no way I was going to retake them. After a week or so, I realized I just didn’t want to put in the work to study for them and actually try and raise my score. If you can devote the time to study, definitely retake them. Otherwise, it’s not worth it.

I took mine twice in HS and got a 2130 superscore. I’m applying to Cornell for a sophomore, should I take it again? I’m pretty sure I should be able to score higher this time around… especially if I REALLY study this time.

I asked the colleges and they say they’ll still take a look at my Jan score(for Oberlin and Wellesley, since their deadline for intl students are jan 15th)

Will it hurt my GPA’s quality if my SAT is low?
