SAT and ACT Dilemma with Multiple Sittings

Hello all!

I am going to be a PG high school student next year, and I have taken the SAT four times (once as a sophomore, twice as a junior, and once as a senior). I recently heard that colleges do not like if you take the sat more than three times! (Is this true?) My guidance counselors told me colleges do not discriminate against you for taking the sat a certain amount of times so I was carefree when taking the tests. With no prep, my scores at each date were 1600, 1730, 1900, and 2000, showing an upward trend. However, in fear of the amount of times I had taken the test looking bad in light of this new discovery, I turned my sights on the ACT, and, with a lot of hard work this time around, I am managing to pull off 34 Composites on my practice tests. I have also taken the SAT Math level 2 and SAT Physics twice with scores of 800 on both tests. However, now i am finding that I cannot send my subject test scores to colleges without sending my sat 1 test scores to certain colleges!! I feel as if all my hard work has been for nothing as I am afraid that colleges will see my four sat 1 sittings and my (planned) 2 ACT sittings. I was wondering if the schools will count the two ACT sittings as a separate entity in regards to how many times I have taken each test. Arghh, sorry if I am being confusing. I am having a hard time trying to convey my queries through all this stress :( .

Once you have that high enough score on ACT, you shouldn’t worry about how many times you have taken SATs. Even if the colleges find out eventually. But I do not see why you couldn’t send your SATII scores without the reasoning scores. They are separate tests!

Some colleges, like UPenn and Georgetown if I’m not mistaken, don’t participate in score choice and demand your full score report.

It’s a little unfortunate, but I don’t think it will be a big deal.

So, if i applied to UPENN and they saw I took the SAT 4 times and the ACT twice but have a much higher score in the ACT, would they look at the ACT scores and, in a sense, ignore my four attempts at the SAT 1. Like, would they neither count the ACT as an SAT in the sense where they would add up the amount of times I took both tests together to a total of six attempts (!) nor would they discriminate me for the amounts of time I took the SAT? Also, I know UPENN takes the ACT with writing in lieu of the SAT Subject Tests. Since I did so well on the Subject Tests, would you suggest that I still send all my sat scores just so they could see my subject tests? Thanks to all of you for your help!
