SAT AND ACT/Full Sail

I really want to go to Full Sail University next fall and they dont require SAT or ACT. I am smart but i am really bad at test taking should I take them anyways, just as back up?

Take them just as a precaution.

Don’t go to Full Sail. It’s a for-profit school and widely regarded to be little more than a scam.

Full Sail is a scam DON"T

whyyy?

yea i heard
how resent is that?

Do a quick google search. The first few results I saw were fairly recent. I suggest you do some more research and decide what you can get from Full Sail that you can not get elsewhere.

@Michelle2016, You’re a homeschooled student? What state are you in? How much can your parents afford? You’re better off starting at a community college, which doesn’t require the SAT/ACT either, then transfer to a 4-year state school?

The trouble with for profit colleges is that they’re expensive and their credits won’t be accepted at other schools. I wouldn’t attend one.

@austinmshauri yes i am home schooled, Fl, i can afford any college really
i just want to go to the best college for recording Arts

@Michelle2016, How much have your parents said they’ll pay? You should look into test optional schools, but not for profit ones. Bard is popular among NYS homeschoolers. What state are you in?

@Michelle2016 Take one of the tests just in case. There are lots of schools that offer that major. Its just hard to find them because they all call it something different. Recording Arts, Recording Technology, music Technology, Music Production, Audio Technology, etc. I like using the search on Big Future…just google it.

How far from home do you want to go? Belmont in Nashville and Columbia College in Chicago both offer that major and are not quite as selective as some of the bigger name universities. I think you could pair recording arts with business and make yourself extra valuable to future employers.

@uwalummom hey thanks and i live in Florida so…

I want to own my own recording studio so.

Long road ahead before owning a recording studio. I have a brother in the business. Your name recognition and reputation (and talent) are everything and need to be well established before ever opening a recording studio worth anything. Have you thought about your path to get there after college?

Well i am not sure i need a lot of help. I am not sure yet what to do after college
i was gonna sign under someone
Full Sail helps students
But i dont know
I am 18 and will be 21 when i am done with college

Wait…you are a senior but you still didn’t apply for schoool?

@paul2752 what?

Never mind…didn’t see you were homeschooled.

@Michele2016, Have you checked majors at your state schools? Look at some recording companies (places you’ll want/need to intern at while you’re in school) and see where the people who work there went to school. LinkedIn will help you find that out. You’ll likely find state schools, maybe some privates, and possibly even a community college or two. What you won’t find are a lot of schools lume Full Sail.

Where else have you applied?
