I'm an unemployed parent wanting to know if there are any waivers to help pay for SAT and college application fees.

Lotnee, here is the link to information about SAT waivers.

If you have a high achieving, low income child you may wish to look at the QuestBridge site.

Google is your friend. :)

Lotnee… I’m aware of those sites because I’ve been the Shell answer woman elsewhere in the past. Other people who have been through the process of making use of them would know more about them than I do.

Hi Lotne –
In addition to the fee waivers Deborah T mentioned, you might consider applying for Free/Reduced lunch for your child(ren) if you haven’t already done so. If your application is approved, your school district may have additional fee waivers/reduced fees that apply for other costs in high school, and there is more favorable treatment on some of the financial aid forms.

Welcome!

If you are eligible for free/reduced lunch and apply, SAT/ACT waivers are basically automatic. For college apps, if the colleges are on the common app that is one fee waiver (for any CA school), and you can use the college board fee waivers for an additional 4, and NACAC waivers for yet 4 more.
