Hi
I am an International Student and I took both SAT & IELTS. I got 1450 from SAT (650EBRW - 800M) and I apply to T30s. Since my EBRW score is low for T30s, I thought that if I can get a good score from IELTS, I might compensate it. I had to take IELTS anyways because of my curriculum. I got 8.0 overall (8.5/8.5/7.0(writing)/8.0(speaking). I am pretty happy with my result. I thought about retaking SAT in December but I am mainly focused on college applications rn because I am a senior. Does IELTS give even a slight boost to my application or does it compensate the low English score I got from SAT? To be honest, I don’t think IELTS is that important to be considered academic wise but I wanted to know your ideas.
I would agree with you. Plus, IELTS is a really testing different things. IMO, a strong SAT can offset a weaker IELTS/TOEFL score, the converse is not true.
