SAT Application Debate

So I have about two days to decide whether or not to retake the SATs for a 3rd time again in October before applying ED to NYU.

My GPA is pretty good(A- average, with a terrible chem teacher that brought every kids gpa down included with the school giving a note saying how most kids in her class did much worse than they should have). ECs are decent, nothing is truly spectacular(I did get to work for a production studio in LA this past summer for a week and also have written a 106 page script in my free time). SATs are not great. On my SAT IIs I got a 620 on Lit and a 600 on Bio, but those are done with. My best SAT score out of 2400 is 540 Math, 670 CR, 630 Writing. It's not terrible, but it is still a low score for NYU's standards. Now with all that information, note that I HAVE NOT been studying for the SATs and am now really debating whether or not to sign up and study hard somehow for a month for the test. I think it's very possible that my scores will go down which is why I do not think I should take them again. For all those that got in, is it a good idea to take them again even with the strong possibility(really just lack of time) of lowering scores?

I would suggest taking some practice tests in the next two days, and see if your scores have improved. Also, NYU looks at the "superscore" of your SATs, so if you score lower on one or two parts, it won't really matter that much. Just make sure that you are able to raise your OVERALL score
