SAT based scholarships?

Idk I’m basically middle class but like are there actually SAT based scholarships? I got a 2110 which isn’t even that good but… I need as much money as I can get ya feel

Outside scholarships - no.

Scholarships given by colleges - yes.

So would you have to apply yourself or do the colleges pick you?

You would need to apply to the colleges.

You can find a lot of good information on school specific scholarships in this section of CC: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/1678964-links-to-popular-threads-on-scholarships-and-lower-cost-colleges.html#latest

BobWallace actually has an ah-mazing list for automatic full tuition scholarships for different combinations of SAT/ACT & GPA: http://automaticfulltuition.yolasite.com/

Good luck!

What is your GPA?

What is your SAT breakdown?

There are colleges that if you apply by the scholarship deadline date, and you have the stats, then you get the stated award. These are assured awards for certain stats.

There are other colleges that have competitive awards. You apply to the school, maybe you are required to submit a scholarship app as well, and then maybe you’ll get an award with your acceptance letter.

BTW…a 2110 is very good.

Basically I took the SAT and got a 2150 which is eh, but I took the ACT and got a 28 because I was really sick that weekend. What will colleges think of this?? Do they just look at the higher one or…

Which is it? a 2110 or a 2150? and what is the breakdown?

As for the 28, colleges will just use the higher score…for you, that’s the SAT.

I meant 2110!! oops!

What is your GPA?

660 CR (I tried)
700 MATH
750 WRITING
I mean I’m not poor, but it’s not like all of my parent’s earning JUST go toward my tuition. They have bills and stuff to pay for and I have a younger sister too so…

How much can your parents contribute each year for 4 years?

Do you know what you want to major in?

You say you are middle class-do you know what your parents earn? (What are you basing ‘middle class’ on)?

You need to retest. AND also retake the ACT. (did you score low on the SR section? If so, study that and any other low section)

The SAT Writing score means nothing for merit at 99% of schools. So, what you have is a 1360 M+CR score…that is what merit is based on. If you can get that to a 1400+ or get a higher ACT, then you’ll have more opportunities for larger merit.

Ask your parents how much they’ll pay each year towards college.
