please help me, I beg you.

Just as.... so.... is an idiom.

"So" in this case means "in this way" or "in the same way" - Finland produces architects the same way Ireland produces writers.

A is correct; all the others are awkward and/or fail to keep the parallelism.

pg 660 #17
Crossing and recrossing (A) the stream, stepping on or over slippery rocks, and following (B) a trail that grew(C) how challenging (D) their day would be. no error(E).
pg 660 #19
In the foothills of that large mountain range is (A) the sources of a river whose course(B) was not fully mapped(C) until (D) this century. nor error.(E).
pg662 32 Sentence 5 in the passage is best described as
A introduceing a new topic
B provideing an additional example
C emphasizing a major point
D linking two contrasting discussion
E presenting a personal opinion

19 A is incorrect, it should be "are." The subject of the sentence is "sources," which is plural. You were probably thrown off by the fact that it comes after the verb, but remember, the subject is never part of a prepositional phrase, so you can eliminate everything up to "is" in your search for the subject. If it helps you, you can rewrite it as, "The sources of a river are in the foothills of that large mountain range."

32 Don't have the BB with me right now, but if I remember correctly the author was just describing the situation the main character was in, and then followed it up with something like, "so-and-so was right there in the midst of it," underscoring the fact that she was there. So C is correct, because the point was an important one and that sentence was used to reaffirm everything that was just said.

17, I think you may have left out some of the original sentence (?)

but show nothing

Yeah, the first time I searched, I put in the page number and nothing came up, then I put in a phrase from the question and a few links came up. The CC search function can be weird I guess :/ Google can work sometimes too.

Yeah #17 is supposed to be

Crossing and recrossingA the stream, stepping on or over slippery rocks, and followingB a trail that grewC steeper and steeper, the hikers soon realized how challenging Dtheir day would be. No error E.

I put C because I thought that it needs to be paralel and say something along the lines of that were growing or "a trail growing steeper and steeper"?

On #32 I put B. I thought the author was just giving another example by stating that whats her name was right there at the time. Why is A the better (and correct) answer?

17 It's true that there's parallelism in this sentence, but make sure you're very clear about what's being compared - the parallelism is between the various actions of the hikers. However, "that grew" is not describing an action of the hikers; it's modifying the trail, so it doesn't need to be parallel to the actions of the hikers.

The main thing in #32 is that the author had already described the situation the person was in, so sentence 5 is not introducing a new idea, but reaffirming something that was already said.
