went up 150 points in math --- self studied an hour a day from june till october for the critical reading section almost exclusively i guess the first math one was a fluke, but a reasonably large amount self study (8hrs/week) can usually raise ur score significantly unless ur already in the 2250 - 2350 range. i recomend princeton review and the blue book cause the kaplan book is easier than the test

i jumped 150 points with NO extra work. I want being complacent, i have just lost most of my interest in going to college in the US and took it for the hell of it. I think the fact you are more relaxed, know what to expect and how to pace yourself second time really counts for a lot.

Just things like knowing how much food to bring, i can always spot the first time takers because they bring like a bottle of water, and those who know what an ordeal it is bring a whole lunch to ram down in the 5 minute breaks!

Didn't do much prep, remembered to eat on test morning, and took enough ibuprofen to keep me going through illness. I've begun to suspect SAT scores of correlating pretty strongly to age -- all I really did between the two tests was get older, as I already knew all the material.
