I’m using the Campbells Biology book to self study the material for the SAT Biology test. I’m pressed for time so I don’t want to read the entire textbook. Which chapters are necessary, or which ones can be skipped? Any help would be great!!
I’m also using the Campbell’s biology book to prep for the SAT Bio test, but I’m also taking AP Bio.
In my opinion, the most essential chapters are 6-13 for basic information. 41-49 is good for a general overview of body systems, and 21-25 for evolution.
Are you taking E or M?
I’m not taking AP Bio, but IB Bio. I have not decided which test I will take, but I tend to be better at ecology. I would like to read most of the book, but which chapters do you think are absolutely too detailed or useless for the test?
@glassflowers I forgot to @ you
I took that subject test last year and the only studying I did was reading through my AP prep book (since I was already taking the AP). My score could have been improved, but it was decent. I would recommend doing more than I did, but you definitely do not have to read through all of Campbells to do well.
Campbell is way overkill for SAT bio. You just need to read through a typical review book like Barrons etc… to ace that test (which is mostly a memorization test anyways.)
@tellmecombo Thank you!!! Any book suggestions?
I pretty much used barron’s for everything SAT’s back then, but it was very long ago… try looking at amazon reviews?
