SAT Biology E/M Subject Test

How hard is the SAT biology e/m subject test when compared to ap bio? I'm thinking about signing up for the test. Is there anything I should study and which prep book is the best for the sat subject test?

If you don’t already have a prep book, don’t take the test in June. You don’t have enough time to retain all of the information needed to do well, ie 700+. Get PR, Barrons, Sparknotes, and the books released by the College Board with Real Tests inside. Study for a few months and take it slow. Don’t take the test until at least October.

But if you’ve already taken AP Biology (it’s not clear from your post whether you have or not) then you should be more than ready. As long as you had a good teacher and paid attention in class. The books are still good for giving a score range though. Even just taking Sparknotes’ free tests available at their website would be more than worth your time.

I have just taken the ap biology test and i am in ap bio right now. Should i take the test?

It depends what you’re aiming for. Whatever it is, if you’re not scoring it on practice tests, chances are you won’t on the real test.

Are freshman allowed to take SAT Subject Tests? I heard that the college board archives your scores after 2 years. Is this correct?

I’m pretty sure there is no age limit. And I’ve never heard of archiving.

I know this is delayed, and I don’t know if you signed up for the test, but the archiving is for students that take tests in 7th and 8th grade. Just so you know.

I say take it. I took it last weekend, just before the AP exam. I only read PR (2007/2008 edition) during the week and did the 2 practice tests that were in there (I studied for ap bio the day after the SAT II). I thought the test was easy (I’m trying not to jinx myself here), and I also thought the AP exam was really easy. I think june would be a prime time to take it. If you don’t do so well, you can always retake it. meh

Hey,
I too am taking the AP biology subject test (M) on June 4. A little less than a month away. I am in an AP bio course. However, the teacher didn’t prepare us well for the AP exam. I did do some self-studying, and I am hoping I got a 5 on the exam (I know I got no less than a 4). I would like to know is a little less than a month not enough time to study, given my background. I would also like to know what brand of prep book I should use. Some say barrons and others say PR.
Help! Thanks:D
