I’m currently a senior in high school and have taken only the sat 2 math and bio m. I got 800 on math and 780 on bio m, but I’m applying as a cs major to the school of engineering. I know some schools of engineering recommended chem or physics but not biology. At this point, I don’t have enough time to prepare and do well on the chem or physics sat. How much will it hurt me if I only submit math and bio as a cs major. I have 34 ACT, 3.96 uGPA, 4.32 wGPA, with most rigorous courseload at a top 10 public high school in California.
Have you taken chemistry and physics, and how well did you do on them?
If you took physics, did you take a regular or honors physics course, one part of an AP physics series, or both parts of an AP physics series?
I took chemistry honors in sophmore year and AP Physics 1 last year. I’m currently taking AP Physics C E/M
If you remember your chemistry, wouldn’t you be able to do the chemistry subject test, perhaps with some review?
For physics, AP physics 1 may not have full coverage of all topics on the physics subject test, although it may cover what it does have in greater depth (but the subject test only tests regular high school level content).
Do I need to take sat chem or physics? I feel that I could use my time much better doing college apps
Do the colleges you want to apply to require an SAT subject test in chemistry or physics? Or do they recommend it, and you are not in some sort of disadvantaged situation (e.g. low income in a low SES high school) that often results in not being able to fulfill such recommendations (seems unlikely)?
None of the colleges I’m applying to require it, and I am not in any sort of disadvantaged situation
Do any recommend it?
