SAT Biology: Take before or after AP Test?

Ok, Im having a hard time choosing my test date. The Ap test for Bio is May 12th i believe. But I want to take the Sat 2 for Bio as well. Do u think I should take it on May 3rd (before Ap exam) or June 7th (after Ap exam). Those of you who took the AP Bio and SAT Bio, did u take the SAT before or after AP and how did u do? Any tips and adivce to score above 730? Are the tests from the princeton review book similar to the real deal? Which one is harder and which one did you score higher on? Thanks for your help!

facing the same situation in chem myself....im thinking take it on the 3rd because the sat subjects are easier than AP's and it will be a good review for ur AP also im pretty sure that personally i would kinda zone out after the AP test

One data point for you. For APUSH, D took AP test in May and SAT subject in June. Her score was mid 700. I thought given her one extra month would help. But it didn't.
For AP Bio, D took AP test in may and SAT subject test in May. Her score was near 800.

I took the AP Bio exam last year in May and then the SATII Bio-E in June. I felt that AP Bio was MUCH easier than SATII Bio, in part because the questions were more general, but mostly because the AP has a crazy easy curve and the SAT has a crazy hard curve.

For both tests, I recommend getting a review book and studying all the chapters, making sure you know all the bolded words. I used Barron's for AP, but all my friends think that Cliff Notes is the best. I studied from PR for the SAT, and took as many practice tests as I could, and even borrowed my friends review books and took practice tests during lunch.

As far as the order of the tests goes, I would recommend taking the SAT in June because the AP is an easier test, and thus you won't be as stressed out in April/May when studying. The end of April and May was a very hectic time for me, and I was glad I wasn't taking any more than the 6 AP tests I had signed up for. Then I had the rest of the month of May and June to read PR and take lots of practice tests for the SAT. My strategy seemed to work for me, as I got a 5 on the AP and an 800 on the SAT. But if you feel that you will forget everything you know in Bio between the AP and the June test date, it may be wiser to take them both in May.

The June tests are usually easy, whereas the May ones are usually hard. That's been my experience with the SAT subject tests.
