SAT Black book?

SAT Prep Black Book: The Most Effective SAT Strategies Ever Published: Mike Barrett: 9780615780849: Amazon.com: Books

My friend said that this was one of the absolute best books on the SAT, but I feel kinda skeptical about whether it's really that great or not.

Seems to have pretty good reviews; has anyone used this book?

If you have, can you give a quick review and tell me if it's worth it?

This and the blue book were the only resources I used to prepare. I got a 2250 in October (680 CR 770 M 800 W). It’s really the only book, I believe, that has decent and tested strategies, and they’re definitely the best.

D is using this plus the blue book. Nothing to report yet but we’re still in progress of getting organized. I moved her back to the March SAT.

I bought it and did not use it because I had already way too many sources
if your already scoring above 2100+ just practice using QAS Past SAT tests

This book is very good. But it is very similar to the Grammatix guide from a few years ago (written by the same author). The Black Book is good but it you have to buy the Blue Book as well to use it effectively.

My D used it for tips on CR. She was having trouble on practice tests with the passage based reading questions. She found the tips in the Black Book very helpful. She got an 800 on CR.

It’s the best book for CR, but yes, it’s a revision of the old Grammatix book.
