I need practice tests can anyone recommend good resources (other than CB, Princeton Review)
The only book that is availbale for me to buy is Kaplan’s 8 practice test 2017. Should I get it?
(Current score 1430, 3rd attempt on 6th October)
Can anyone recommend maths book to improve score from 760 .
I agree with vinceyoung10
Check out Erica Meltzer’s books for the english part. UWorld is extremely helpful as well if you read their tips at the bottom of the page after every question you answer. I only practiced UWorld and Khan Academy for math and got a 730 on the october 2018 test
College Board Blue Book - it uses actual test questions.
If you are scoring 1500+, I would skip the content sections of the prep books and just do as many practice questions as possible. Then if you need help in a topic, use Khan Academy, Youtube, etc.
Try Barron and the Princeton Review. Don’t buy the College Board books
I bought the College Board books and turns out they are just the print form of advice already published on Khan Academy
Kaplan SAT Prep book worked for my math
They way I see it, Erika Meltzer mostly benefits those who fall somewhere 600- to low 700s. Afterwards, UWorld or KA will benefit you the most. Through these methologies, I was able to get a 1590 on my second try.
I know people talked about this a lot but the information is overwhelming .
I have read BlackBook, Erica Meltzers(Both of them), Barron’s, and official practice tests and my main problem is EBRW.
In the practice tests I scored between 620-680 in EBRW But I scored 590 on the real test
What books should I get and read to get to 750 s ?
Should I study vocab ? If so from where ?
What should I read to improve my understanding of old passages?
I am planning to take the sat in september btw
I did all the practice tests in the test like situation with strict timing and I think I messed up because of stress
For workbooks with students, I like Kallis Writing and Language Patterns for Writing. Larivva’s Writing book is ridiculously hard: I want hard material, but it goes too far. Erica Meltzer’s Reading and Writing materials are good, but too easy for most of my students. For math I use Barrons Math SAT Workbook, which is good, but has the disadvantage that it wasn’t a complete rewrite for the new SAT. PWN for math is good, but it isn’t that suited as a tutoring workbook, because it doesn’t have that many problems. I sometimes use Dr. Jang’s for math (not to be confused with Dr. Chang’s): it is comprehensive with good questions, but one problem for my purposes is the answers are to the right of the questions.
Did not take a prep course. Most of the books I used are already listed previously in this massive thread. One thing though, I tried to use Barron’s SAT prep book a bit, but I highly discourage others from doing so. Especially for the Reading section, the Barron’s examples and practice tests are farther from the actual exam than any other prep book I’ve seen. Many require literary analysis or inferences, which shouldn’t be the case for SAT reading questions.
I am having trouble getting the link to work. Did it move?
Hey guys, SAT is tomorrow. Any last minute tips or tricks?
isn’t there also a sat black book?
College Board has canceled the May SAT exams because of the world threat “coronavirus”. Makeup exams for March 14th-2020 which were scheduled for March 28th-2020 have also been canceled. So, the candidates are getting more time for their final preparation. In this time they should practice more questions.

Agree with those and if you haven’t exhausted the Khan Academy or online-based resources, I would say do that too.
Is doing harder sat prep books help your score because I’ve used books like Barrons and Kaplan which don’t really imitate College Board tests, and I end up not doing well or I find the questions to be difficult.
What would you say are the best resources to use for SAT?
