SAT Centers in India which allow without passport? - Yahoo! Answers India

Well I would strongly advise to have a passport before giving your SAT exam. Its too risky plus it varies on school-school. Like the person in the Yahoo thread stated that no school can officially say that they don’t need a passport as its a requirement stated by college board.
So dont take a chance and take your passport with you.

@crys Thanks. But I don’t think I could obtain passport before Oct SAT. There’s still some certificates my parents need to get passport. That’s the trouble. I think I should ring em up and confirm it myself. I just thought someone who took it in chennai by may could answer it.

Why will you not get before October?
I dont think its take so long :P

There’s some certificates my parents need to obtain. They said it might took a month above to get them. It’s only after that I could even apply for a passport. so i thought if i fail to get em this could be a backup plan.

Still, frankly speaking even if you apply honestly it wont take more than 2 months , i still not sure abput wait time in your city

Also try going to a passport agent , they can fasten up the process a lot (if you understand what I mean :stuck_out_tongue: )

Yah! Passport agent could speed up the process. Give a try :)

You CANNOT write the SAT without a passport. Any center allowing you to do so is violating the rules and regulations of the College Board.

It is June now and even if you require a fresh passport and your parents do not have a passport it will not take more than a month to get the passport(without an agent that is & since you are in Chennai). With an agent, you can get it done in 15-20 days tops.

My cousin got his passport expedited and got it in just 10 hours so a passport agent can be a life saver in your situation.

Thank you, guys. I guess I just have to get it then.

Actually, some centers allow you to write without the passport. However, they will also mention in the supervisor feedback form that you did not have passport. Which, inevitably means that your scores do not get processed.
