SAT Chemistry - Last minute tips?

I've taken about 3 Barron's tests, and the one CB test. I'm doing well on them, but the fact that I miss 9 or so questions on each Barrons test (though scaled to 800) is a little discouraging, since I find it hard to believe that -9 = 800, esp knowing that on the real CB test, -2/3 is 800.

Does anyone have any last minute tips on how to achieve that elusive 800? Any past experiences with Barrons/PR v. the real thing would be nice too...I hear things about how a 700 (-30) on Barrons = 800 on CB...

I also have the PR book and will take a look at their review section as well, though I may not have time to do a few practice tests.

well consider thta the barrons q's are much harder than the actual test..

A 700 is a -30 for Barrons? O_o

I've taken 10 practice tests, I think I'm ready. I just need to make sure I make no stupid mistakes. Breathe a lot and read carefully.

I'm also hoping to get the elusive 800, the curve doesn't help lol

bump bump :<)

i think if you get 20 wrong you can still get a 700

The test doesnt look to hard, the only thing im having trouble with is the memorization stuff...like colors and precipitates. So make sure you got that down.

Anyone know what you get w/the test, i know u get a periodic table but do they give u a reference table? In my review book theres questions on the practice test that say refer to the table????? (Princeton Review book)

I think they're talking about a table of experimentally obtained values that is provided for certain questions

My advice: don't panic and watch your pace. The test itself is not very difficult for pretty good students. (assuming chem is one of your better subjects if you're taking the test)

It's also a really good idea to use "all" your knowledge when looking at the problems. Looking at them from one prespective doesn't hurt, but look at them from different ways.

Yeah, im pretty much near the top of the class for my AP chem class in California (this is a decent school), and I've been getting -10 on the Barrons. I find this hard to believe since I usually score the top scores in my class, but I hope it just means Barrons is retarded. AP Chem is the 2nd hardest class in my school next to AP Physics.
