SAT Chemistry Twice Through - Princeton or Barrons?

I am taking the SAT Chem on June 5th. I'll be finishing my second read of Princeton Review very soon. Should I go through Princeton Review again, or go through Barrons> I have both books but never read the Barrons, just got it for more questions.

Also, I got a 750 and a 760 on the two Princeton Review tests I took. Do I have a chance of getting a 770+ by June 5th?

Getting 760 indicates that you could get 770 right now; the reliability coefficient of the test is not that high. At this point, I recommend going through as many practice tests as you can and practicing and studying specific areas of weakness, rather than going through the whole preparatory book again.

Getting 750 and 760 shows that you have the potential to score anywhere between 700 and 800, depending on how you perform on test day (there are many factors that can impact your performance on the exam, like nervousness, test center conditions, the seemingly omnipresent “threat” of “underperforming” on the real thing, etc.). I would recommend you do the exams in Barron’s and go over weak areas. If you can score 800 on a practice test, you shouldn’t receive a score lower than a 750 on the actual exam, even if you do end up “underperforming.”

I got 730 on a PR test (69/85 correct - 65 raw score). How accurate is the test?

Thanks for all the responses!

For the 760, my raw score was 1 point off from a 770 - so annoying, but at least that’s good!

Now I’m thinking of going through the test I did and making a list of all the topics I got wrong, then just studying those. There are also a couple topics I didn’t get to in school yet, so I’ll focus on that, and take 5 more practice tests (4 barrons, 1 princeton review).

Would an 800 on the Princeton Review be a good way to ensure I get a 770+ on the actual test? Would maybe a 700 on the Barrons translate to an 800 on the actual test?

I believe I got around 750 on Barron’s the night before and 800 on the actual.

Thanks silverturtle!
