I'm interested in taking SAT classes to prep for the October administration and was planning on taking either PR or Kaplan. I was wondering which is better to take? Maybe some of you can share your experiences with either. Please help.

Well I'm taking PR classes right now and so far it has been okay. I picked PR because they had more sessions than Kaplan did.

Both my sisters took PR and it helped raise their scores significantly.

theoneo how were there scores before and after?

My friend is taking PR against my wishes (:P) and I am not. We'll see which works better soon.

haha you're silly quitejaded. Are you going to be taking the October SAT's as well? How are you prepping?

I took the PR classes for the March SAT this past year. Overall, I'd say the classes helped but not enough for paying $1000.

Old SAT score (before PR): 780 M 680 V
New SAT score (after PR): 760 M 680 CR 770 W

So, I would say PR definately helped in my wrioting score, as writing is the most coachable section. I followed the CR strategy of skimming the passage. I didn't have much success with it however. Sometimes you just need to read actively.
