SAT CR Jan 2008

silent traveling was the answer

Rememberme1900, we put all the same answers. Yay?

o my.. can't think of any other questions....

anything elssse... people??

I also thought "innocent" applied to the parents' critique cause the narrator said that the father genuinely believed she could be miss world, although later her "tv days were over" when she stood out in the crowd on TV

"I think I did get developmental changes in the English language."

Which question was that/what was that question like?

...Hmm, I got systematic and thorough...

Also, how did the author of passage 2 view the criticism of Pound's methods?

YAY cc2212. Hopefully we rocked this CR!!!

Now, i remember putting "insist that stories be read in their native language" for one of the poetry ones cause i thought the europeans wanted to express the original author's ideas just as well in their own language...did I miss something.

^That's what I put, too.

it was about revering authors right because they said no one would remember homer and pope etc..

I think it was "harder to detect than alga" because even though copepods and alga are both a few milimeters long, alga is is much easier to detect because of their bioluminesence, while copepods wish to remain invisible

i know i got half the ones i got wrong were my 2nd choice (either didn't put or changed!!!!!!!!!).

I'm pretty sure carelyne one was "any educated person knows" and def. NOT greatest writer of time b/c passage NEVER says he was greatest artist of time... and i sorta says any educated person (civilized person might mean that)

what was that one in hte poetry passage.. about with a tendency to........

Naw...I didn't get that, I don't think. (for the insist stories be told in native language)

I got that they should rever the authors, I believe.

It was that any educated person should know. I'm pretty sure about that one...

i put they place archaic language into a modern mold for the european question

on the asian one, one question was talking about the pre-videocasette or something, what was the answer?

It showed that a technological innovation made an experience more common? Something like that...

"I think it was "harder to detect than alga" because even though copepods and alga are both a few milimeters long, alga is is much easier to detect because of their bioluminesence, while copepods wish to remain invisible"

That kinda makes sense. I didn't like that question. I believe that the story said "copepods want to be hidden too" so that might have meant that the algae were hidden. Also, the copepods bit the algae but they would let go when the algae started glowing so they probably don't always glow.

yea, the videocassette was the innovation

the luminesence was was really hard b/c it seemed as 2 or 3 answers could be write an all the latter ones.

I dont really remember how hard the 20 min one was (poetry one) b/c i did like 5 questions in last minute b/c ran out of time... so i think i did pretty bad
