So I have two questions regarding SAT I and SAT II US History…

What books would you recommend for SAT crit. reading section?
I improved my writing and math scores this year but still having a hard time with crit. reading… I currently have Barron’s and princeton review. : )

I’m currently taking APUSH at school but sadly have a really bad teacher…
So I’m using the AMSCO book to study for the ap exam, but I want to take the SAT II in June as well and I heard it’s slightly more difficult than the ap exam.
Would it be necessary to buy extra study materials?? please help!!

For CR, I would say it depends on where your reading level is. If you’re a good reader scoring in the high 6’s or low 7’s, they I would say just do lots of Blue Book practice tests to get very familiar with the questions; at least that’s what worked for me. If your reading skills aren’t very solid, however, you’re going to need to read lots of challenging literature and study vocab. There’s not really an easy solution to CR.

For USH, use AMSCO for reviewing material for the SAT II. Collegeboard puts out a book with two practice tests for the USH SAT II, and you should buy that for the practice, but still use AMSCO for material.
