SAT Critical reading help/tips?

I'm taking the SATs on Saturday and i'm relatively confident about my math and writing score to be 700+ (based on practice tests) but I struggle so much with critical reading.

In about each practice test i get 450-500 CR, 650-730M, 680-750W.

The reading is terribly low and its mostly because of sentence completion and some reading comprehension difficulties.. I'm a terrible reader lol and its just so difficult for me I can't understand why its hard to get a 500 at least in it..

I've already taken the SATs once and was very disappointed with my reading score, which was a 390.. I cant seem to improve it beyond a 500.. Can someone help?

Should I memorize roots or anything? Or just keep reading? Ive prepped so hard for Math and Writing and those scores have jumped up very high but reading is still terrible :(

What’s your strategy for reading the passages? I usually read th questions first, then look back to the passage. Lots of questions require only a few lines of reading, so I find it inefficient to read the whole passage first, only to look back anyway at the passage. I got the idea from Critical Reading Study Guide, on amazon. You can spend time memorizing roots and vocab, but being a critical reader an understanding context clues will help you more in the long run.
