Hi,
On the SAT, the section I seem to have the most trouble with is CR. Yet it isn't the whole section that gives me trouble, it is in particular the passage-based reading. The information questions are quite easy to answer, as are the in-context definitions, but it's the questions that ask you to "infer" things from the passage or ask why the author does something, or how they feel about it that I often miss. Does anyone have some good advice, tips, prep book suggestions, or ways I can practice these types of questions (besides the Blue Book). Thanks!

I did not get a perfect CR score but I will tell you how I attacked the CR passage based section.

First I read the passages without even looking at the question. As fast as I can but not to fast, because I still want to grasp the meaning of the passage. When you read , Try and REALLY read it. Act as if the passage was a story and you were the author reading it to little children and make your self seem interested. Do this and slowly you will understand the mood of the passage. As everyone on CC has said. For the CR section it takes a lot of practice.

Thanks! Does anyone have any prep book suggestions?

The Official SAT Study Guide on Collegeboard has a lot of practice tests, and it has separate sections on how to tackle the reading, math, and writing section. It’s a thick book, but it’s because it contains a lot of practice tests which will benefit you. :D
