SAT Critical Reading thread

Discuss the SAT Critical Reading

SCs please

What was the answer to the sentence completions ones
one had choices of plasticity, machination, semblance, duality

the other had choices of acuity, a word that starts with an a that i forgot, transient
and it had the word biting in the sentence

I think i may have said plasticity, but machination but might be right.

i think it was juxtaposition

SC
I put Duality for that one, but I’m pretty sure it’s wrong.

and Transient and Ephemeral for another one was wrong. Forgot the other choices though

For the one with acuity I believe animus was the correct answer.

Sculpture question: I got juxtaposition
What did people get for the Barbara passage questions “Her speech was analogous to” and “Her speech signified”?
I got analogous to an inventor who got a patent he had failed to get multiple times in the past and her speech signified progress.

What was the question? Wasn’t it that the woman threaded different materials together? Machination makes no sense in that context. I chose juxtaposition, because she positioned them all together.

I said Barbara was like a distinguished boss… I kind of skimmed the rest of the paragraph because I was running out of time and took a gamble. She recalled her experiences as a congresswoman. Isn’t that like a boss reviewing his successes?

The machination, semblance, etc was with juxtaposition? then it was definitely juxtaposition.

was the meanthrope one right? (something like that, or was it iconoclast?)

omg I guessed animus!

I put animus and juxtaposition. I think both are right actually. Hopefully those made up for the ridiculous biofuels section. ■■■.

I put misanthrope

For analogous: I said it was UN/Independence because the ambassador basically just got independence and is now doing big things ; her speech signified progress

Aw, I put semblance instead of juxtaposition. ><

For the Barbara passage
I put the Ambassador wins his Independence in the UN answer choice. I might be wrong though

CR curve is going to be insanely generous this time. I’m almost sure of this. Last test was one of the harshest curves, this will be one of the nicest.

No I think it was the inventor getting a patent finally… cuz FINALLY is kind of the idea with BLack Women finally holding political office

Misanthrope - Someone that basically has a lot of contempt.
