Hi all,

I reside in England/UK and I need to do the SAT. I was preparing to do it in March because of my exams at the end of the year and as it would give my time in terms of preparation.

But is there a date in March for the SAT to be taken in UK as I can only find that there is one in the US.

Can someone clarify this for me please, as I need to know soon to decide when to apply for the SAT?

Thanks.

Nope, I don’t think so. The website says Dec 7, Jan 25, May 3, and Jun 7.

“The SAT and SAT Subject Tests™ are offered overseas six times a year: in October, November, December, January, May, and June.” From CB.

Thank you for your reply. That balls, I was looking at the American SAT scheduling ffs.

How much time would you say is required to prepare for the SAT as I don’t know myself. March would have been ideal but because I have so many exams in May/June I would prefer not to do them then.

I have yet to do any SAT/SAT II subject tests; but this year for the 4 remaining dates I intend to do Maths,Physics,Chemistry and SAT I.

Would it be feasible to do the Maths in December, the SAT in January and Physics and Chemistry in May or would it be best to swap the exams for the January and May.

Kind Regards

Nate :)

I suggest taking a practice SAT to see where you stand. You can base how much you need to study from there. That’s a lot of exams, meaning a lot of studying. Do you have to take all those SATs during this school year? Testing comes naturally to others whereas others have to study hard. If it comes naturally to you, then go for it (:

I am in year 13 atm = US equivalent is Senior I think.
I am going to take a gap year next year, but I am doing my A Levels(=AP equiv) in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry,Physics so I would prefer to do the science and math ones this year.

That sounds like a great idea, do you have any links to a sample SAT paper please and a SAT II Maths one. Thanks

In England you apply before Oct 15 deadline for Oxbridge/Medicine so do you know by any chance the deadline to apply to USA unis. Thanks.

If it is possible I would be prepared to do the exams in my gap year.

sorry to bump again but I need to register and sort this out so bump

I have no idea what a gap year is, lol. There is a practice test on the CB website. There are more here too: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/1277787-links-additional-official-sat-practice-tests-collegeboard.html. I suggest taking it January so you can at least familiarize yourself with the test or hardcore study and take it during December. Space the tests out depending on your ability.

Hey thank you very much for this. I really appreciate your advice and help. I owe you ><

A gap year basically means after Senior year you can go and get work experience or do whatever you want for a year and then go uni.

But yeah thanks a lot. Just to clarify mate, do you recommend to do the actual SAT in January then and work my ass off in December?

Thanks again

-Nate

Mhmm (: Yeah, study everyday and A LOT during Christmas break for the SAT I. Are your school exams during early, mid, or late May?

Sorry for the late reply. My first exam is on the 19th May and last is 24th June. And yes I will definetly do. For the SAT subjects tests would you say 1 month is enough time?

You should have enough time to study for your school exams if you take in on May 3. Take a practice test first and see if a month is enough.

ok will do, thanks pastel :)
