Alright…right now I want to do 2 things before I ED Columbia

Retake 2190 SAT

Take physics and lit

That’s in order of priority, since i already have 3 SAT II’s. At first, I was planning on taking SAT’s in june, then studying over the summer and preparing for the SAT II’s in October. But, I realize I’m pretty unprepared for the SAT right now…got a lot of stuff going on. For Columbia specifically, can I still do both of these if I skip the June date and apply ED? Will I be able to get my SATII scores for physics and lit in time for the ED round if I take in november, and SAT’s in october?

Thanks for the help.

PS: if I cancel june, will I be able to get my money back?

Well, the Columbia site states "You [ED applicant] must have all standardized testing completed by the November test date, and you must be very certain to have your scores reported directly to Columbia by the testing agency."
...and quite frankly, I feel that this is ambiguous with regard to whether they will accept a November test. I would be inclined to say yes, but the easiest thing would be for you to call them and ask.

However, and I know you didn't ask for this, but:
1) why do you need two more SAT IIs? Columbia only requires 2, were your other three all bad? If they're fine, don't bother taking the other ones, Columbia won't care, especially given your time crunch.
2)You don't really need to retake a 2190 either, though you seem set on it, and they do say they take the highest composite, so I don't know why I'm even bothering to dissuade you.
3) have you considered the ACT? The test dates normally don't coincide, so you could perhaps take the ACT instead of SAT again AND your SAT IIs, both in October.

ye...if it comes down to it, i'll just scrap the other 2 SATII's. But I mean, if I have the time, why not. From what I've seen, having more SATII's seems to help a little. I see a lot of ivy acceptances who have 4-5

THe 2190 is from 1 try, and since i got a 229 on my PSAT, I know I can do better. I want to get as close to 2300 as possible, or at least 2250+ would make me content.

Nah....I really don't feel like learning a new test format or doing anything more with tests really. I just want to retake my SAT, and be finished. The additional SATII's would just be something to do if I have a free test date open.

Alright, I guess I'll just email the admissions dept. Thanks....anymore help is welcome

wait....Columbia ED requires everything to be postmarked by Nov 1. So that autmoatically rules out the November test date.....Will my October scores even be ready by Nov 1??? The OCtober date is Oct 14th! Crap....does this mean I have to take June2nd now? Will October scores be back by Nov 1st? help pleassse

I emailed the admissions office, but they said they'll reply within a few days. If I'm going to have to take SATII's in a week, I need to know soon so I can start cramming vocab lol
