Hi, I am trying to get some feedback for my son on the essay from the Dec. 2016 test. Does anyone have the essay question? It was about the Family Leave Act in the Huffington Post.
All SAT test takers sign an agreement not to discuss the test questions or any content on the test, and while there will still be people who discuss it online, CC does warn people to defy the college board at their own peril, as the college board will reserve the right to cancel scores/take unspecified action against them.
Why is the essay question so confidential?
Because here’s the dirty secret of standardized testing: the College Board re-uses questions and other test material after a few years. So if it gets leaked online, then it could give an unfair advantage to some students. It’s not our fault that they only have a certain number of tests that they’ve written and have to keep using, but I recall reading somewhere that it’s very expensive to develop a brand new SAT test.
Well, I doubt the essays questions are reused.
Students (who are not old enough to enter a legal agreement), are asked to not speak about the test until after the scores are posted. If you have any type of learning disabilities, you need to learn from the essay questions so you can do better next time. Someone flagged my last comment so that means the College Board and their minions are acting like internet thugs. I want our state to bring back the ACT!!
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
Regardless of the College Board’s policies, their materials are protected by copyright, so asking for them here violates Terms of Service. If the original poster wants to ask the College Board for the questions, feel free. Closing thread.
