SAT December 2013 Official Thread

yea i knew I got that one wrong. I had experimental CR so my first section was a 20 minute math and Im 80% sure i got 3 wrong, hopefully only 2. The on the fill ins I got like another 2 wrong and then on the last math i think i got like another 2 or three wrong which is bad, but hopefully i scored well enough CR and W, which i think i did, to get a 2100. fingers crossed.

i thought it was pi/2 but everyone on this website has said that it is just pi so i guess thats it.

one that im not sure of is the 0<1/x<6 one i put the first answer choice which was one of the shortest.

Yeah dude I am definitely aiming for a 2100-2200 as well. I am just looking to go to Penn state but my GPA kind of lacks, I figured If I score real well, I might apply to some 2nd tier schools like notre dame or Texas at austin. where are you going?

BTW: since you guys are top scorers too, let’s verify some more.

1/27 for the cube volume with edges equal to 4

3 for the one that asked for the reflection about line y= 5

it was x is more than 1/6 because think about it, 5, 1/5, 1/4 would all work, and I remember filling in the first one too so I hope I didn’t mix up anything. Is that what you put?

yea those are right as well, lets say all the math ones we know and we can move on to the other sections. there was also one about 2^x=4^x=k what is 64^x to k? I wasnt sure about that one i put k^6 but people have been saying k^2

It was pi…

yea i put A for that one and im pretty sure it was x>1/6 the other short one was choice C.

I didn’t really care about the math… I already have an 800 there… So I relaxed during those lol

yea math is what I needed to get higher in. I just wanted to cross it into 700, i just didn’t expect this math to have like 4 hard ones per section.

It’s k^2… sorry

Bryceman, are you applying to Ivies? Also, do they superscore? because sadly they look at best overall, but I think people should get an 800 stands if they happen to score 800 on one and 770 on the next

Well I’m only a junior, but yeah I will be. And all the ivies superscore… They’ll see all your attempts but they only really use your best ones in the composite

What do you guys think of this that I saw on another forum?

While taking the SAT, you endured copying in cursive (Oh the pain!) and signing a Certification Statement, swearing to follow the CB rules. One of those rules - not to discuss the test questions. Should you decide to violate your oath, the ETS/CB may chose to entertain an unspecified course of action against you.
Proceed at your own risk.

how will they trace our usernames to who we really are? they would need to do a full investigation, that would cost so much money considering the thousands of test questions posted on this site. It would take hundreds of thousands of dollars to start a nationwide search for all of us.

just putting it out there i also got pi/2, as did a friend, and we are pretty confident in that answer

@14daltg I put k^2. @Matthew5103 #1 is right.

Hi guys, i remember a lot. I am very good at math and am gay if i didnt get 800. If you have any questions you are unsure about feel free to ask me. As to the #20 one where you said you got pi/2. That is incorrect, the answer is however just Pi. I will tell you why.

simply assume ad is 6. that means the big circle, counting the shaded part is 9pi (3x3xpi). Well if ad is 6 bc will be 2. that means the black circle has an area of pi (1x1xpi). and it makes sense because the big circle (9pi) - the small circle (1pi) = the area of white part only (8pi).

hey peeps. i took the december sat too, but i honestly don’t remember anything lol

but yes, i found math easy. hoping for an 800. cr was harder than usual  writing was very easy, maybe 740+.

my essay was bad, as i couldnt quite provide good examples  hopefully i get like 48 or 49 in the mcqs so that my overall writing score doesn’t suck :/

I’m freaking out a little bit. I had two grid in math sections, and one of them was ridiculously harder than the other one. I don’t remember what section it was exactly, but I do remember it was the second grid in section I took. One of the questions was about having something with a star or square, three different colors, or something like that and how to arrange them. Does anyone recall having that problem?
