If you take the test more than once without sending the results to colleges, can they contact the testing agency and get the results even though the scores aren't sent to the colleges?

I'm considering doing a last ditch SAT I testing in Jan. but I don't want colleges to see my scores or find out about them in any way if I don't improve.

Well if you are referring to score choice, some colleges abide by it and will not ask to see your scores while others such as USC, Stanford, and Cornell will request all of your scores.

Can they extract my scores without my sending them for a fee?

They can do so for AP tests or else Rice U wouldn’t have given me a fee waiver. Rice said I got it because my AP scores were good but I never sent them to Rice.

If you don’t send your scores to a college, the college can’t obtain your scores. Rice probably bought your name from CollegeBoard, in a list of students who had scores above a certain value. That’s nothing personal, just targeted marketing, and the specific details would not have been included.

If you have already sent your scores to colleges, and you retake the SAT you will have to send your scores again for them to see the new scores. If you DON’T send again, they will have no access to your new scores. It’s a tricky strategy that people have been using for quite awhile. Just DON’T register and tell CollegeBoard to “auto-report” your scores to colleges.
