SAT/Dyslexia--Reader Accomodations??

Hello:

I know the SAT folks allow for extra time for folks with confirmed dyslexia-- but how about allowing an oral reader for dyslexic students? You know, someone who will read the questions aloud?

Is this allowed? How do I go about getting it to happen?

Thanks!

One of the counselors at your school should know the process for requesting an accommodation.

The College Board an an information site for this stuff:

My daughter did qualify for a reader for the SATs. You have to apply with the college board but your documentation needs to be very strong! But it is totally possible if you have the “right” qualifications.

If you have the following you’ll get it

 1. Have an IEP at your school
 2. Have testing done within the past 5 years that documents your learning disability
 3. Have “tests read” as a testing accomodation on your IEP
 4. Use that accomodation on your school tests consistently
