SAT Essay in Pencil only?

Hi,

Apparently I wrote the essay in pen and I did not receive an essay score at all. However, I don't think it said anywhere on the practice tests to use only a pencil. I figured using pen will make my writing more legible and won't rub off, but apparently I am mistaken.

This isn't fair!
Antybody else with this problem?
What should I do? Is there a way to get somebody to read my essay personally? I believe that when they scan the essays into the computer for the graders to read, only pencil will show up. I will send them an email right now.

Wow, that sucks big time. For your sake, I hope they give you a chance and find and grade that essay.

I'm pretty sure it says to use pencil in the directions, though.

Hey what ened up happening to you… i did the same thing this last saturday

Bump!!!

if you wrote it in pen I think you can have it hand graded
im not too sure… but I would call and ask collegeboard
good luck!

Cool necro.

6 years bump O_O.

so nobody told you? my proctor repeated it a couple of times. plus every preparation guide says it explicitly. and yes, it is definitely explained in the directions.
So what happened? Good luck ;)

When I took the SAT June 4, it CLEARLY said that “Writing the essay in pen will result in a score of 0.”

It is either above or below the essay question, I think in the directions. OR it was in the actual answer boxes.
