SAT essay question. Please dont flame me

I know this is really a dumb question, but I just don't understand it.

Searched online and still didn't find it.

What is meant when they say the essay should preferably be written in active voice?

I know the difference between active and passive and I am not all that bad in English, I don't know how this applies in the essay

“The cake was decorated beautifully by the pastry chef.”

“The pastry chef decorated the cake beautifully.”

If given the choice between these two options, choose to write the one with active voice instead of the passive one because it is clearer and stronger.

Oh that way.

The whole essay should be preferably written in active .

So if a sentence is for example - Rachel was loved by everybody, especially Ross.

It is better to write it as " Everybody, especially Ross loved Rachel " ?

Sorry, I’m a big fan of F.R.I.E.N.D.S
