SAT essay re-scoring

Hi everyone! I just saw my SAT essay online, and the last four lines of my conclusion are cut off due to a scanning error (I definitely finished the essay). I received a 9 on the essay, and a 750 total on the writing section, but I still want to know if those last few lines would have made a difference, and if so, whether I should go ahead with the SAT essay re-scoring service. The last time I took the SAT, I got an 11 on the essay, and I'm pretty confident in my SAT writing abilities.

Also, when sending SAT scores over to colleges, do they look at the scanned version of the essays?

I don’t think the last four lines would make a major difference, though it does seem odd that it was cutoff. If I were you I would go ahead and ask for a rescore, just in case. I believe that colleges look at the scanned version, not the original.

How much difference the last four lines would make depends upon what they said. That said, I’m with Cheerios; I think you should ask for a rescore.

Thanks guys! I sent in the form… hopefully this problem will be taken care of :)

yes they do
first time I took it only got a 9 essay but an 800
second time I took it got a 12 essay and an 800
it really does matter as long as u tend to use big words and u have some pretty original ideas
they look for ability to conceptualize more than anything

on ACT getting an 11 essay is harder than getting a 12 essay on the SAT fyi
