I've taken the SAT many times (practice and actual), but I'm still confused on whether I should use a more persuasive, personal voice or an academic style voice in the SAT essay section. I always have a 5 paragraph essay that is academic and, in my opinion, just plain boring. Can anyone clarify what the essay graders are expecting?

I really need to know, because I received a 9 on the May administered test (which I thought I totally nailed a 23423535452 out of 12) but received a 10 on the Oct essay (and I thought I didn't do so hot).

Thanks
