Hello, I wrote this practice essay and would be very grateful for any feedback. I'm taking the SAT this saturday, it's my first time and I'd like to know what to improve in my writing in those 60 hours before the test :)

Assignment: Do you believe that one should sacrifice life for liberty?

Liberty is the most important thing that man has. Therefore, if it's at stake, we should fight for it.
During the 1770's the English forced unjustified laws in the U.S. The colonists felt victimized and decided to fight for their freedom, freedom from England. Many of the colonists died in a battle, but the outcome was worth it and shaped lifes of generations to come for better.
Another historic example of important fight for freedom is the Black Power movement of 1960's. African-Americans had to struggle with white oppression for well over two hundred years. To became equal they tried to persuade white men peacefully about their inherent parity. However, nothing seemed to work in favor of the black until the foundation of the Black Power. Members of this organization believed that only violent resistance can make the difference. Bearing arms and publicly pleading for their rights, they were eventually successful and helped at least in part in gaining rights to their people.
Thus, I believe that liberty is a good enough cause to sacrifice life for and, as history showed on numerous occasions, those who did, were often successful and gained their freedom.
